About Us.

Our clients say we’re unlike any consulting firm they have ever worked with before. Here’s why.

Let’s face it, there are no permanently great companies. Business success can’t be delivered on a silver platter. There’s no simple recipe for success. You can’t sprinkle a few “secret ingredients” into the mix…and voila…look what a great business you baked.

Most experts will tell you that in this period of economic disruption, all it takes is cutting the fat to return to profitability. They tell you this because that’s the easy fix. Growth? That’s not so easy. They’ll say you will just have to wait for the market to recover.

But, there’s a big problem with that. Over 70% of the U.S. GDP is made up of consumer spending. Double digit unemployment has frozen consumers from spending. And here’s the tough reality: if the goal was to return to a 5% unemployment rate in five years, it would require 250,000 new jobs for sixty straight months. This is a tall wall to climb given that only 150,000 jobs a month were created during the 1991 – 2000 economic boom.

The point is that you cannot wait for the market to "return to normal" because this is the "new normal".  Your growth will be driven by a systematic approach with proven frameworks and tools to help you discover new, uncontested market space where today’s noncustomers seek new, innovative solutions from you.

Blue Ocean Discovery helps you do this. Here’s how.

> We carefully listen to you. No one has time to waste. We know what we do well and what we don’t. We’ll tell you right up front whether we can help you or not.

> We use uncommon sense. Common sense would be great if anyone really used it. So we call it uncommon because it is usually in short supply. It’s how we think and approach every situation.

> We talk straight…no business jargon or mumbo jumbo. We come from your side of the table, not the professional consulting industry. As experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders, we have helped build multi-billion dollar companies across many industries. No one has the energy to translate arcane business concepts. We’ll just get to the point.

> We transfer our knowledge, not keep it secret. We are passionate about leading and teaching Blue Ocean Strategy as a real world process to find new, profitable growth for our clients. We have the know-how and experience to help you find your Blue Ocean.

> We work hard until our clients are thoroughly satisfied. We realize everyone is different, so we don’t offer canned solutions. If you bring us in for a training workshop or engage us for a consulting project, we guarantee that you have our undivided attention in discovering the best path for you.
